Comprehensive Oral Examination
At Creswick Dental Centre, we believe that the best starting point to your dental care is a comprehensive oral examination. It is similar to having a 100.000km service on a car – we will carefully check everything and will tailor our advice as per the results of our exam.
Such a thorough assessment will take approximately one hour and will include:
- A review of your medical and dental histories
- Soft tissues examination including oral cancer screening
- Digital x-rays to determine your dental health status and check for decay
- A periodontal (gum) examination
- Bite, chewing muscles, and jaw joints evaluation
- Examination of your teeth and any fillings, crowns, dentures, etc that you may have
- Taking high-definition photos of your mouth to better discuss your needs with you.
After collecting all that information, we will explain our findings to you in a way that is easy to understand.
If we determine that you have more complex dental needs, we will invite you to return for a complimentary consultation appointment. Your treatment options will be explained, associated costs outlined, and a treatment plan will be given to you before any treatment begins. You have the right to accept or refuse any treatment you are offered.
We encourage questions as we want you to be well informed and confident about the treatment you receive. We will also seek your input as the as treatment progresses.
At Creswick Dental Centre, all decisions concerning treatment will be made with you. Whilst it is our duty of care to let you know what treatment options are available to you and what you can do, it is your job to let us know what you want to do.
